In the series, “Environmental Structures” the Pio Manzù Centre has published the results of its activity and research from the time of its foundation to date.
Most of the volumes are concerned with humankind’s relationship with the environment. Each piece of research is undertaken with an interdisciplinary approach which allows for a careful consideration of the many facets of the various problems which have been addressed.
Over the years, the series “Environmental Structures” has given ample space to the analysis of the crucial problems of our time, and at the same time has offered possible solutions.
In its publications the Centre reveals its own holistic conception of human dignity and gives voice to the urgent need for humankind to recover its creative and spiritual potential.
A few volumes, in particular, analyse global development: where technology needs to be harmonised with ecology and ergonomics. The ultimate aim of the Centre as revealed in its publications is to put humanity back at the centre of debate whether this debate concerns economic, scientific and cultural choices or international cooperation.
The Centre’s philosophy is characterised by a constant search for a profound and intimate relationship between humankind and the environment, between scientific and technological innovation and ethical reflection. The Centre seeks to harness the potential of strategies of cooperation by a methodology which is really effective and efficient.
Indeed, the central figure in this broad spectrum of enquiry is “humankind” - faced as it is with the complex problems of our time.
Many international experts have contributed to the various volumes, and their work finds dignified expression within the series. This is particularly so, as the graphic presentation is given careful attention to ensure that the volumes are attractive and enjoy a wide distribution.
